Half Marathon Training

Right, as I said in my last post, I have signed up to complete the Half Marathon. I'm a little bit nervous and believe I may have overstepped the mark this time round. I know for most of you this is only a small achievement, but for me, it might as well be the marathon.

So, what I need from you guys, is an awful lot of help. I can manage the couple of runs midweek myself, but I need some guidance for a proper training plan. I have searched across the internet and it all varies. My thinking is you guys know me best, and have a fair idea of what i can do. So, could you help and tell mewhats best for me.

Bare in mind, the furthest I have ever run is 7 miles, and that was only once. I'm still only at a 5 mile level of comfort. Anything over that and I'm struggling.

Looking forward to your wisdom.

Thanks in advance.

Steve.

  1. Ask Alan (and Mark) to write you up a training schedule. Basically you'll be doing one LSR (Long slow run) a week and it will get longer and longer each week. You're ahead of where I was distance wise last year and your fitness base is better too.

I think you'll suprise yourself.... and sure if you're doing half a marathon you may as well... ;)
